Karen Abercrombie is an award-winning actress, singer-songwriter, master oral storyteller, writer and producer. She is also an activist and an avid environmentalist. Born and raised in Aliquippa, PA, Karen is a graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City.

Karen has a long list of credits to her name which include playing Grandma Quill in the Marvel Franchise’s, The Guardians of The Galaxy Volume 3, Judge Eleanor Thomas in the Sony Provident TV Series – Eleanor’s Bench, Miss Virginia in OWN’s TV Series – Delilah, and Miss Clara in the Kendrick Brothers film, War Room. You may have also seen her on Vampire Diaries, Saved by The Bell, Judging Amy, The Inspectors, Ali McBeal, Strong Medicine, etc. As for stage, Karen has appeared in numerous Off-Broadway productions. Some of her favorite stage performances include portraying Aunt Ester in August Wilson’s, Gem of The Ocean, Peggy in Charles Randolph Wright’s, Blue, and Annie in Karen’s original two character play, Ciao Bella.

In 2018, Karen formed her production company, Earth Mother Entertainment, a multi-faceted media company that produces projects for the stage, television and the big screen. Her sole intent with this company is to educate, inspire, and uplift people from all backgrounds with stories that have common threads. Karen believes that art and entertainment, when used in a positive way, can bring healing, unity, growth and balance into the world, making it a better place for all people. Karen has co-written and produced four films, Discarded Things, Angels Unaware, Christmas Angel, and Heaven Sent, and all are currently streaming on Amazon Prime, Peacock, Pure Flix, Netflix and other major platforms. Karen has other projects on deck and one in early pre-production.
